I beat ‘Pachinco’ and ‘Woo Young-woo’…Best Foreign Language Series at the Critics Choice Awards
Apple TV+ drama “Pachinco” won the honor of winning the Critics Choice Awards.
With the 28th Creative Choice Awards held at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles (LA) on the 15th, “Pachinco” won the Best Foreign Language Series Award.
Pachinco competed with the ENA drama “Weird Lawyer Woo Young-woo,” “1899” (Germany), “Female Prime Minister Virgit (Denmark), “Garcia!” (Spain), “The Kingdom Exodus (Denmark), “Cleo” (Germany), “My Brilliant Friend” (Italy), and “Teheran (Israel).
As a result, a Korean-American work has won three consecutive trophies at the Critics Choice Awards. The movie “Minari” won the award in 2021 and “Squid Game” in 2022.
The Critics Choice Awards is an award ceremony in which American and Canadian broadcasting and film critics evaluate their work and acting skills.
Pachinco is an Apple TV+ original series drama series that began on March 25, 2022. It is based on the novel Pachinco of the same name by Korean-American author Min Jin Lee, produced by Media Res and aired on Apple TV+. It is also Apple TV+’s second Korean work after Dr. Brain.[10]
Based on the lives of Koreans in Japanese colonial era and the stories of Japanese and American immigrants, it deals with the lives of four generations, including the parents of the main character Seon-ja.
Season 2 production was officially announced at the end of season 1.
